Business Planning CPD for Therapists – Online – Jennifer Dunseath

Aim: To give any therapist the confidence to start or build their business.

There is more to running a business that just being good at your job. This is a 3-hour course that will help answer the following questions:

  • What is a Business Plan and do I need one?
  • What are my goals?
  • What do I need to do to achieve my goals and when?
  • What are the practicalities I need to consider?

This CPD isn’t about how to write a formal Business Plan, a business plan can be one paragraph long, it is about stepping back and taking regular time to work ON your business instead of working IN your business.  We cover the importance of doing that along with some handy practical tips and guides to help you do that.

Whether you have been in business 5 minutes, 5 years or 25 years it is important to regularly step back and check.

I’ve been working with businesses of all shapes and sizes over the last 21 years and have sat around the table at many board meetings.  People will often get bogged down in the minutia of detail and it is good to ask ourselves ‘why did I set this business up’ or ‘is the business giving me what I wanted’ (doesn’t have to be financial), or ‘where do I want to be in 5 years’   Basically stepping back and looking at the business and checking its fit for purpose.

Presenter:  Jennifer Dunseath

Jennifer became self employed in 1999 doing book-keeping for a few businesses at home, within 5 years she had a city centre office in Edinburgh, with 13 employees.  She assisted many businesses analyse what parts of their business were working and what weren’t, she also specialised in helping new business start ups become established.

She returned to Belfast in 2013 and trained with CPHT (BF1) in 2017.  She is the owner of The Number House and Solution Hypnotherapy NI and is also an assistant lecturer with CPHT Belfast.  Any free time she has is spent walking her two crazy dogs, growing veg and cycling.

Jen has received extremely good feedback on all the CPDs she has run, including Calm Childbirth, Fertility and Book-Keeping for Therapists.

Psychoneuroimmunology CPD – Online – Dr Rachel Gillibrand

How are the body and mind connected?

Can we improve our health with positive thoughts?

How does our psychological wellbeing affect our physical health?

This CPD is part of the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma, but can also be taken by anyone with an interest in how our psychological, neural (brain) and immune processes interact to shape our health and behaviour.

Where the medical system looks to find the link between pathogen and disease, many of us are looking to understand better how our mood, our psychological health and well-being impact on our physical health. The study of psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) evaluates the link between our psychological health and our physical health through the impact of each on our immune system and as such, allows us to approach physical health from a different perspective. Thereby, finding solutions in psychological therapies where the biomedical model of health finds itself challenged.

This module will help you to understand:

  • what we mean by psychoneuroimmunology (PNI)
  • the pathways of PNI in immune system regulation
  • The importance of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis in health and ill-health
  • How SFH is perfectly situated to improve both our psychological health and our physical well-being

We will look at childhood patterns of behaviour and the influence these have on our health then and now. We will see how sleep is important for us via the PNI pathway, and look at how PNI can help us understand how stress influences skin conditions and the development of mental disorders. We will finish with a review of how our work as SFHs provides us with an exceptional grounding for developing psychoneuroimmunology based health interventions.
